Meet the kids

Giovanni is an adorable little boy who engages by smiling and who has a calm demeanor. Giovanni was born in July of 2020 with many challenges including Bilateral Ventricular Hemorrhages, Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Lung Disease, Central Sleep Apnea, and Global Developmental Delays. Giovanni is dependent on a G-tube for all of his nutrition and medication.

Giovanni is of Latinx descent. He is a ticklish toddler and really enjoys one-on-one attention. Giovanni really likes music and toys with bright lights and sounds. Giovanni is benefitting from Regional Center Services such as Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy which are helping him gain muscle strength as well as to reach for and hold objects.

Ly’Dell is a charismatic little boy who leaves an impression on those who meet him! Ly’Dell (November 2019) is a trooper and although he deals with some medical and developmental challenges, he continues to grow more each day.

Ly’Dell suffered seizures in utero resulting in right-side paralysis. His primary form of mobility is the use of his wheelchair. Ly’Dell is diagnosed with Failure to thrive, visual impairment, VP shunt hydrocephalus, Cerebral palsy, and Global developmental delays. Ly’Dell receives services from the Regional Center, including Physical therapy and Occupational therapy.

Ly’Dell is able to crawl around, reach for toys, and cuddle. He enjoys movies such as Aladdin and Moana. Ly’Dell generally has a more bubbly personality, but he’s also a bit of a fussy eater and requires some patience during mealtime. Ly’Dell does best in more serene settings as he does not do well with overstimulation, sometimes reacting with head-banging when he’s overwhelmed.

Sophia (b. 10/2011) is the lived name of this bubbly and energetic child! Sophia can be helpful, but also enjoys being the center of attention. She is good at sharing her thoughts and needs. Being the center of attention and being expressive are qualities that could help if Sophia chooses to pursue her dream of being a singer.
Sophia likes going to the park, running and playing handball. She is into gymnastics and is interested in taking gymnastic classes. Sophia also enjoys exploring new restaurants and trying new foods – sharing that shrimp and fries are among her favorites and that cheesecake is tops when it comes to dessert!
Sophia has a good sense of humor and is caring and loving towards those she trusts. If you feel you might be able to make the choice to support Sophia transition into being part of your family, please let us know … it could be one of the best choices you ever make! Meet Alexander! He is a beautiful little boy inside and out. Alexander is described as a very happy child. He likes to watch movies and listen to audio books. Alexander is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. Alexander is not fully independent and requires a wheelchair for mobility, however, he is able to utilize a gait trainer from time to time. Alexander is able to reach out to people that are familiar to him. Alexander also really enjoys pet therapy time and arts and crafts. He really enjoys having stuffed animals around him, it seems as though he likes their feeling of coziness. He is generally event tempered, but can get a bit irritated when his routine is interrupted.

Alexander is diagnosed with XQ22.1 which is a genetic disorder. He is able to eat solids but is mostly dependent on a G-tube for all his nutrition needs. He really enjoys food and delights in different textures and tastes. Alexander has developmental delays and has been benefitting from range of motion therapy. Alexander is non-verbal and communicates with gestures.

Alexander was born in September of 2014 and is of African-American descent. Are you up to the challenge and reward of raising this awesome kid?

Beverly (born in September 2010) has a sweet and caring personality with just a pinch of sass! Beverly enjoys participating in Zumba classes as frequently as possible and also enjoys riding her bicycle, hiking, and dancing. Beverly has had a great deal of loss in her life and really needs consistency. She is participating in therapy to address some interpersonal issues and multiple losses as well as to learn more effective ways to communicate her feelings. Beverly is in good general health and tends to favor beans and eggs when it comes to her diet.

Beverly would really benefit from a family that can provide stability as well as ample opportunities for her to bloom and reach her full potential. “Olive” [b. January 2009] is a bright, intelligent, artistic, likeable, and beautiful young lady. Olive (pronouns are she / her) also discovered fencing, not long ago -which she enjoys. Olive has a desire to learn and do well academically now that she is in high school. Olive gets along well with other peers. Olive likes to play video games as well, and can spend a couple of hours just doing so. Olive enjoys eating home cooked meals, but she won’t say no to doing take-out once in a while.
Olive wishes to improve academically and the school is helping Olive bring her academic performance up to grade level. Olive is also making steady progress in therapy towards learning to better handle and appropriately express her feelings/emotions/impulse control, and personal boundaries. Olive’s self-esteem and self-advocacy are improving as well.
Olive would like to find an adoptive family that is patient and understanding and would be open to them maintaining a relationship with Olive’s younger half-siblings. Meet Adrian, (born October 2011) an extraordinary African American boy in search of an adoptive home. With his intelligence, charming personality, and unique qualities, he is sure to capture the hearts of those around him.

Adrian is a curious young man who loves to explore new places and ideas. One of Adrian’s passions is his love for cats. Adrian understands the importance of using his voice to make a positive impact and connect to others. Adrian has developed a verity of self-coping skills. He is learning how to effectively manage his emotions and handle challenging situations with a positive mindset. This resilience allows him to overcome obstacles and approach life’s difficulties.

Adrian enjoys spending time with friends. Whether it is playing video games or engaging in outdoor activities, time with his friend is highly value. Music is another avenue through which Adrian expresses himself. He has a genuine passion for playing the guitar. It allows him to be creative and express his emotions. Adrian’s genuine desire for connection and belonging makes him an ideal candidate for a forever home.

Cielo and Paola are sweet and friendly sisters who are going to melt the hearts of the right forever family!

Cielo (b. March 2012) is a kind and clever girl who likes helping others and likes to be involved in school activities. Cielo enjoys cooking, drawing, arts and crafts, and shopping. When she grows up, she would like to be a detective.
Cielo has a speech and language delay as well as a learning disorder for which she is receiving services. In addition to medication to help regulate emotions, Cielo is also learning better coping skills to use to help when she gets frustrated or angry rather than shutting down.

Paola (b. February 2014) is an active girl who enjoys playing outside and taking walks – especially if there is a pet dog to walk. Paola enjoys coloring and is a great helper in school. Paola receives support services to help with a speech and language delay, a learning disorder and Autism, along with therapeutic interventions to help with behavior challenges.

Cielo and Paolo have visits with their older sister and would like to be part of an adoptive family that supports them in maintaining this relationship. Gabriel [b. May 2013] is a sweet, social and active little boy who is into dinosaurs! Gabriel even wonders what it would be like to go back in time and live among the dinosaurs to see how they lived. Gabriel has participated in swimming lessons and Science/Robotics Camp, both of which he enjoyed very much and made him feel good about himself. He also enjoys going to the park to run around and play with other kids. Gabriel is receiving services to assist him with a speech delay as well as with learning ways to better communicate his feelings in positive ways. Gabriel continues to make slow but steady progress in school and this, too, makes him happy.

Rosalina [b. April 2014] is a quiet little girl who enjoys playing with her siblings as well as with her dolls and stuffed animals. She likes to help around the house with things she is able to do, such as making her own bed and folding and putting away her clothing. Rosalina loves going to the park where there is plenty of space to run and actively play on the swings, slides, monkey bars and jungle gym. Rosalina is receiving speech therapy services to address a speech disorder which can make it hard to understand what she is saying at times. While Rosalina is too young to know what she wants to be when she grows up, for now she’s happy to be a princess one day, a mommy to her dolls another day, or an artist on other given days.

Anastasia [b. September 2015] is an active and social little girl who is already displaying some traits of a natural born leader! She enjoys going to school and is doing well in her classes. Ana, as she is often referred to, enjoys playing games with her siblings or going to the park to play on the swings and monkey bars. She’s learning new ways to express her feelings in therapy, but one thing that seems clear is that this girl likes to play and have fun!

Aubriiella [b. Sept. 2014] is truly a child that likes to keep herself busy – from bike-riding or roller-skating to playing in the park or playing piano! Aubriiella likes going to school and learning new things and the school is assisting her improve her academic performance. And while Aubriiella would one day like to travel to places like Hawaii, right now she looks forward to her weekly trips to the park where she gets to visit with her brothers who are in a different placement.
David [b. June 2017] is an energetic child who is quick to want to lend a hand with tasks. David enjoys exploring his environment and playing with toy trucks, dinosaurs and Legos – with LEGOLAND being one of his dream destinations. David also likes pets, particularly dogs.
Daniel [b. April 2019] is a child with an easy-going personality who is fine playing independently or with other children. He enjoys watching CatNap on YouTube, while also liking to play with trucks, dinosaurs or Legos with his brother David.
These three siblings need one adoptive family that will provide them the nurturing guidance and support for each of them to reach their potential and reach for their dreams while having the same place to call home.
