Lakiah [b. June 2014] is a sweet, caring and social child who enjoys going to the park to run, ride scooter, and play on the swings, monkey bars and slides. When she’s not playing on the playground, Lakiah also like to spice up her looks with colorful clothes and accessories such as hair bows. And when it’s time to spend time inside and let her hair down, Lakiah likes to play games or watch stuff on an iPad.
Lakiah doesn’t like missing school and she is making good academic progress. Lakiah likes school so much that not only does she get into playing school (as the teacher) with the other children in her foster home, but she also says she wants to become a teacher when she grows up.
Ryu [b. December 2016] is a friendly and affectionate little boy who enjoys going for walks or, like his sister, going to play in the park. Ryu also recently learned to ride scooter. And while Ryu also likes to look neat, when it comes to apparel his sports hoodies are his fav!
Ryu is on the spectrum and has limited speech. He is receiving therapeutic services at home and in school to help him in the areas he needs it the most. Ryu can also be more particular when it comes to eating, but both he and his sister are typically up for McDonalds when given the option.
If you think your family has the loving patience and support to meet Lakiah’s and Ryu’s differing needs while ensuring they are raised together, please let us know. These two are sure to add sugar, spice and a little of everything else in between to the right adoptive family! Photo Credit: Austin Raye
