Meet Michael (b. October 2008), an extraordinary youth with a will to live his best life. Michael really likes utilizing any type of technology and enjoys watching television. He is a bit of a finicky eater, preferring to put ketchup on most of the food he consumes. Michael has a limited vocabulary and he utilizes simple gestures such as pointing and shaking or nodding his head for a good deal of his communications. Michael can get along with others but prefers to spend time by himself. Michael enjoys going for walks but can require assistance at times and needs help with many daily living skills. Michael requires continual supervision as well as encouragement to engage with others. He is not fully potty-trained and wears a diaper. Michael is benefitting from Regional Center services and needs a structured environment in order to be all that he can be. If your family has the room in your hearts and the routine in your lives that could accommodate Michael’s needs, including his need for permanency, please let us know. Adoption by the right adoptive family could be an ideal answer for Michael. Photo Credit: Laura Gallegos
